It’s important to listen to what’s being said, not what it is you want to hear.
My ex had told me “It’s hard loving you because I don’t love myself”.
WHAT I HEARD WAS EVERYTHING ELSE OTHER THAN HIS TRUTH.
I heard excuses.
I heard rejection.
I heard all he needed was for me to love and pour into him more.
I tried to do everything to fix what I presumed the issue to be other than processing what was actually said. And that’s something I had to take accountability for. #TheShyWay #ShyLessons
